Two Swivel + Two Fixed: This is the most preferable and safest handling configuration with two swivel castors and two fixed castors. This can be with or without a brake to easily stop. For easier manoeuvrability, the two fixed castors should be positioned at the front, with the swivel castors at the back. This configuration is suitable for most loads.

One Swivel + Two Fixed: This offers easy manoeuvrability but is only recommended for lighter loads. To ensure safe handling and to avoid tipping issues, loads must he distributed evenly. 

Four Swivel: This configuration offers maximum manoeuvrability, making it ideal for smaller spaces. However, it can be more difficult to control on straight, sloping, or uneven surfaces, particularly with heavy loads. Using castors with locks can help mitigate this issue to some extent.

Three Swivel: This configuration provides maximum manoeuvrability but can be difficult to control on uneven surfaces, in a straight as well as sloping environment. It is recommended only for small trolleys with light loads to use this configuration.

Choose castors with locking mechanisms to brake or prevent unwanted movement. Additionally, castors made with anti-slip materials help prevent the wheels from sliding or skidding, ensuring stability in environments where it is crucial.

Understand Your Floor Type and Surfaces
